Brunel University will celebrate its 60th anniversary in 2026, though its origins date back to 1798 through predecessor institutions such as Borough Road College, Shoreditch College, and Acton Technical College. Since becoming a university in 1966, Brunel has grown into a community of over 12,000 students, including over 3,300 postgraduates. Known for blending academic excellence with a practical, entrepreneurial spirit inspired by Isambard Kingdom Brunel, the university continues to make significant strides in research, innovation, and student experience.

Transport Links:
Brunel University is well-connected by public transport. Uxbridge station, served by the Metropolitan and Piccadilly underground lines, is approximately a 20-minute walk or a brief bus ride from the campus. Regular bus services, including the U1, U3, U4, U5, and 222, provide easy connections from Uxbridge, Hillingdon, and other nearby areas.
West Drayton tube station is the closest station to Brunel on the Elizabeth Line, with a 24-minute journey to Paddington Station. The station is linked to the campus by buses U1, U3, U5 and 222.
Heathrow airport is a short bus-ride away, with direct links A10, 724 and 102.
For those traveling by car, the university is close to the M25, M40, and A40, making it easily accessible from outside London. Heathrow Airport is also just a 20-minute drive away.
